The King’s Speech – Best director Tom Hooper
How refreshing to see the relatively low budget British film The King’s Speech pick up four Oscars and that Tom Hooper took the best director award after losing out at the BAFTAS earlier this month.
Being fortunate enough to have worked with Tom Hooper for a few months alongside Oscar winning actress Helen Mirren I learnt more about acting for the camera than any previous training I had. When I wasn’t needed for filming I would go to the set and see what was going on behind the camera. If you ever get the chance to work with a good director absorb everything. Good directors never bang on about their work, they don’t have to because the work says it all. Steve G Red Creative.
